UNWE and IPM colleagues on a mobility visit to METU, Ankara
As part of the mobility activities under Work Packages 3 and 5 of the STIDIES-Dig Project, colleagues from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) and the Institute for Modern Politics (IPM) are visiting Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara.
Assoc. Prof. Ekaterina Tosheva, Ivilina Aleksieva, and Krasimira Denkova were warmly welcomed by the METU team. Meetings with Prof. Ömer, Elif Polat, Senyo Bakay, and Ersin Kara provided an opportunity to learn more about METU’s academic activities and institutional experience.
The team paid particular attention to the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching, learning, and research. The discussions also highlighted best practices in university–business collaboration and public policies that support research and technological development.
The Bulgarian colleagues also visited the Technopark located on the METU campus, gaining insights into the university’s innovation ecosystem and its links with industry.
Another particularly valuable part of the visit was the meeting with the team responsible for developing digital content for continuing and distance education. The colleagues had the opportunity to explore the recording studios and learn more about the process of producing digital learning materials.
The visit offers valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and strengthen cooperation between the partner institutions in digital transformation, higher education, and research.
