Chaïbia Belbzioui Alaoui elected head of AFEM
Chaïbia Belbzioui Alaoui is the new president of the Association of Women Business Leaders of Morocco (AFEM). She was elected by a majority vote for a three-year term (2026-2029) at the association’s elective General Assembly held at the CGEM headquarters on June 25, 2026.
This decision, in accordance with AFEM’s bylaws, marks the renewal of its leadership and reinforces its role as a major player in women’s entrepreneurship in Morocco. The new president of the association, CEO of BCS Industrie – Tangier and president of AFEM for the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, succeeds Leila Doukkali. She will head a Board of Directors composed of 23 female directors from strategic sectors: technology, industry, consulting, export, training, commerce, and more.
In her new role, the AFEM president will focus her mandate on six major priorities. These include accelerating the digital transformation of women-owned SMEs; strengthening access to financing; and developing growth and exports. AFEM also intends to “promote women business leaders internationally; expand its membership base; and further develop its presence in the regions and territories.”
It should be noted that the General Assembly also approved the moral and financial report for the 2025 term, commending Leïla Doukali for all the actions undertaken during her two terms (2020-2026).
