Studies Dig Project and Networking Activities
As part of networking activities, researchers from the STUDIES-DIG project participated in a workshop for career guidance within the framework of GREENgaged Citizens: European Network for Local Climate Action, organized by the Department of Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics at UNWE in Sofia on June 17, 2025. The workshop brought together 25 students from the language school “Dimitar Dimov” in Pleven and 22 participants from Portugal, Italy, France, Spain, Malta, the Netherlands, Greece, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia and Hungary and was attended by the Rector, the Vice-Rector for International Affairs and members of the academic and administrative staff at UNWE. The workshop’s moderator was Prof. Dr. Daniela Koh-Kozhukharova, the head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics and a member of the STUDIES-DIG project research team.
The workshop was open to participants interested not only in environmental problems and climate change. It aimed to discuss and disseminate information about renewable energy sources among youth and ways to actively involve them in the process. It also provided a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas and experience of researchers and academic members engaged in various international projects and academic programs at UNWE, and created an excellent opportunity for future collaboration beyond the project network. The STUDIES-DIG project, coordinated by UNWE, was presented by D.Sc. Zornitsa Mladenova, representing the non-academic partner from Rudozem Municipality. Her presentation overviewed the project’s goal, tasks, and activities, highlighted the theoretical and practical areas of significance, and discussed the progress made thus far, along with the challenges faced. Members of the STUDIES-DIG research team from Bulgaria and Portugal also participated in the workshop.
The workshop also included a presentation of the UNWE international projects under the Erasmus+ program, which focused on numerous training and mobility opportunities, as well as presentations of academic programs, which are provided in partnership with European and Chinese universities.
