Our goals

In today’s rapidly evolving world, digitalization has become a driving force reshaping businesses, public institutions, education, and everyday life. Our project is designed to tackle the opportunities and challenges that digital transformation brings, creating a roadmap for sustainable and inclusive growth across multiple sectors.

STUDIES-DIG unites 11 partners from academia and industry across diverse cultural and socio-economic landscapes, including institutions from Europe, Africa, and Asia. Our consortium is made up of 77 researchers and innovation staff members, embodying a rich blend of expertise in technology, social sciences, economics, management, law, and linguistics. We are committed to fostering gender equality, with 50% of our team comprising women, including our project coordinator, reflecting our dedication to inclusive and equitable research practices.

Our Mission and Objectives

The STUDIES-DIG project aims to bridge the gap between academic research and practical, real-world applications of digital strategies. Our work is guided by several key objectives:

  1. Assessing Digitalization Practices: We audit the state of digital services across our partner organizations, identifying both exemplary practices and areas requiring improvement. This analysis sets the foundation for strategic advancements tailored to the specific needs of various sectors.
  2. Understanding Cultural and Socio-Economic Factors: Recognizing that digital transformation impacts different communities in unique ways, we explore the role of cultural and socio-economic influences in shaping digitalization processes. By conducting field research and surveys, we develop models to guide effective digital transformation across diverse environments.
  3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Our research identifies and classifies digital risks, from technological and economic threats to social and psychological impacts. We then propose comprehensive strategies to minimize these risks, ensuring the safety and efficiency of digital services.
  4. Developing Educational and Training Solutions: To foster long-term digital literacy and resilience, we are creating online courses for university students and specialized training for non-academic partners. This effort includes the development of cutting-edge multimedia content, hosted on customized Learning Management Systems (LMS), accessible to a global audience.

Impact and Innovation

STUDIES-DIG is designed to leave a lasting impact both scientifically and socially. By fostering new and enduring research collaborations, we are not only sharing knowledge but also building the future of digital education and business practices. The project focuses on equipping academic and non-academic stakeholders with the skills necessary to thrive in a digitalized world. We aim to support entrepreneurs through tailored training programs, helping to close the gender gap in technology and business.

Our work emphasizes open science practices, ensuring that the knowledge we generate is freely available to the wider community. From developing digital risk management strategies to promoting interdisciplinary research and training, we are committed to disseminating our findings through open-access publications, interactive platforms, and collaborative workshops.

Knowledge Transfer and Community Building

Central to our mission is the transfer of knowledge between sectors. Through secondments, workshops, and joint research initiatives, our team members experience firsthand how digitalization is approached in various environments, from private businesses to government institutions. We share best practices, co-create digital strategies, and empower organizations to adopt efficient and secure digital solutions.

Our networking activities also build strong professional connections, fostering a community of experts who collaborate across borders and disciplines. These relationships extend beyond the project’s lifecycle, laying the groundwork for future joint initiatives and research collaborations.
